He is survived by his stepsisters Marsha Posey and Janet Kesler and their families.

He was predeceased by his late wife, Lucinda Parnell Parks, his grandparents, Annie Butler Parks and Jesse Lee Parks, his mother Elizabeth Parks, his father-in-law Sam Parnell, and mother-in-law Judith Parnell.

On Saturday, June 26th at 11AM an outdoor Graveside Service for the Internment  of Ashes of Robert Reid Parks will take place in Gaston Memorial Park at 1200 South New Hope Road in Gastonia, NC 28054.  His ashes will be placed beside his departed wife LuCinda Parnell Parks at the Hillside site 504.  Officiating will be Episcopalian priest Houston Mathews who will solemnly honor the life of Bob Parks, who was a friend of shared high moral character.  Poet Ellis Clemons will do readings of a selection of his poems to honor our military warriors.  Houston Mathews and Ellis Clemons are thrivers from the Marine’s Delta 1-9 “The Walking Dead”.  Meredith Parks will sing “On Eagle’s Wings”.  Military honors are expected.  Family, Friends, and the Public are invited, with a special request for local Vietnam veterans to attend.

Instead of flowers, Bob requested any size donation to be made to the American Legion in appreciation for the advocacy work that they do for all veterans: www.legion.org -> donate

In his final wishes, Bob requested that instead of eulogies or cards that a website provide the opportunity for all to share stories, experiences, inspiration, and words of comfort.  He wished all to participate as even a few words will have a great impact.  In this way, everyone, especially his grieving survivors, can be blessed forever by the remembrances that celebrate his life and his passing into eternity: https://www.rememberingbobparks.com
